Since the competition between Apple and HP Especially is really starting to heat up, Microsoft have stuck their foot in the door and released some product shots of their own Tablet PC, With a rather interesting twist. The Tablet (Featured below) comes in a rather interesting Book Format, Which doubles as both it's own screen protector when not in use and hopefully will be recognised as 2 monitors.

Speculation has arisen about the Operating system that will be used, Some are saying it will be a cut down version of Windows, Others say Microsoft will most likely base it on the new Windows Mobile 7 or perhaps the Zune HD Interface.

Your on about the Courier, was designed way before the iPad has been around longer than all this slate pc hype. The courier has been around in concept and design way before hp and apple announced there respective slates, as for where you got the windows mobile 7 os news from thats pure lies as there is no windows mobile 7, its now windows phone 7 series, and it moves away from the traditional windows start bar look of old. Moving more in a zune interface kind of style, cleaner more stylish and more accesible.

As for what Courier runs on its been slated to run on windows CE 6 just like the afore mentioned Zune and Windows phone 7 series, its also rumoured to run on an nvidia tegra 2 chipset aswell.

Some early concepts/prototypes of the Courier used Windows 7.

Also, I think the image is the wrong one, it looks like the acers dual screen netbook mockup.
